Events

There are many different educational events available to you with your membership. There are events hosted and promoted by the national ASCLS society and there are local ASCLS-MO society events. More details are below.

ASCLS National Educational Events

ASCLS has four (4) major live conferences each year, the Annual Meeting, CLEC, Legislative Symposium, and the new ELMC2. Live meetings and conferences offer continuing education with the added value of being able to see the speaker live, to ask your questions, and to hear the questions and answers of other participants. The conference format also provides opportunities for networking with your professional colleagues from across the nation.

  • The Joint Annual Meeting (JAM) – it is held each year late in June or early July. The Joint Annual Meeting is a collaboration between ASCLS, Association of Genetic Technologists (AGT) and The Society of American Federal Medical Laboratory Scientists (SAFMLS).
  • The Clinical Laboratory Educators Conference (CLEC) – is an important annual event for faculty, administrators, directors, advisors, and others in clinical laboratory science education.
  • The Legislative Symposium – is an event that provides up-to-the-minute information on legislative and regulatory issues impacting the profession. Attendees also learn about the legislative process and how to present their views on Capitol Hill. On the second day the attendees visit their legislators’ offices.
  • The Emerging Laboratory Managers Collaborative Conference (ELMC2) – is a two-day virtual event is designed specifically for laboratory professionals to help them transition into and thrive in management roles.
